I don’t remember life without the Innu. They have always been my neighbours, whether across the river in Sheshatshiu, or down the bay from my parent’s tent. They are one of the most resilient people I know, and at the same time so quick to laughter, so quick to kindness. Our worlds are not the same but they often overlap and it is always good to see them. They are my friends, neighbours, and cousins.
